Why hoodies need detailed tech packs

Hoodies are one of the most common garments in streetwear, athleisure, and casual wear — but their construction complexity is often underestimated. Hood shape, kangaroo pocket dimensions, drawcord routing, ribbing tension, and shoulder construction all require precise specification to avoid costly sample revisions.

A complete hoodie tech pack covers hood panel construction, pocket bag dimensions, cuff and hem rib specs, drawcord type and length, and eyelet placement — details that generic templates often miss.

Step 1: Define your hoodie type

Start by specifying the hoodie subcategory. A pullover hoodie has different construction requirements than a zip-up. An oversized streetwear hoodie needs different measurements than a fitted athletic hoodie.
